The spelling of Jowston changed from Suikoden somewhat, though it could have gone either way since Suikoden wasn't totally consistant on it itself.

Northwind - Northwindow

Viktor's hometown is known as Northwind in Suikoden but is called Northwindow in Suikoden II.

I can't really say which is more correct at the moment, probably the word was the engrish uindo which can go either way really...
